Texas A&M baseball gets run-ruled in Game 1 of the series against Tennessee

Texas A&M (14-15, 1-9 SEC) was run-ruled 10-0 by No.1 Tennessee (28-2, 9-1 SEC) at Lindsey Nelson Stadium in Knoxville, Tenn. on Friday night.

Embarrassing is the only way to describe the Aggies’ loss to the Vols on Friday night. It was never close, and the two opportunities A&M had to score, they squandered away by hitting into easy outs. Neither the pitching nor hitting showed up, with the Aggies’ pitching staff giving up 12 hits and 10 runs in seven innings of play. Offensively, it was just as bad, with them headed for another double-digit strikeout night if the game went the full nine innings.

However, with them getting run-ruled, they finished the night with zero hits and eight strikeouts. It was widely understood that A&M was going to lose, but for them not even to put up a fight has even the staunchest Michael Earley supporters wondering if it might be time to move on after the season.

Texas A&M will face Tennessee in a doubleheader on Saturday, April 5, at 2:00 p.m. CT. The game will be streamed on SEC Network+.

Final.
