A Wisconsin State Patrol trooper adopted a kitten after it was abandoned on a highway ramp.
The trooper, Brody Schmitz, stopped last week to help a driver pulled over on a ramp near Interstate 90 who reported that she saw someone throw kittens out of a moving vehicle, the Wisconsin State Patrol said in a May 29 Facebook post.
The offending vehicle wasn’t located, but a kitten was found, the post says. Schmitz took the black-and-white kitten to a nearby animal shelter, but returned later and told staff he wanted to adopt him.
“Well, everyone meet Toby,” the State Patrol said in the post, alongside images of Schmitz and his kitten.
The post doesn’t say exactly where the incident took place. The Wisconsin State Patrol did not immediately respond to a request for details.
