Medical examiner identifies man who died at CenterPointe Marine

The Milwaukee County Medical Examiner has identified the man killed May 28 in an accident at CenterPointe Marine.

Cody Stelzel, 24, of Menomonee Falls, was killed when a boat tipped over on him at a Milwaukee boat storage facility where he was an employee.

First responders were called to CenterPointe Marine in the 700 block of South Water Street on May 28 around 2:51 p.m. Police said the man had been crushed by a boat that had tipped.

Craig Duchow, CenterPointe Marine’s general manager, released a statement about the tragic accident, according to CBS58 News.

“Our hearts are heavy. We remember Cody as an important part of our team, an incredibly smart young man and a kind person,” the statement read.

“Cody was always smiling, happy and full of enthusiasm. He will be greatly missed by myself and our entire team. As we grieve, our prayers, thoughts and immediate focus is on supporting his family and all who knew and loved him,” the statement said.
