When it comes to the Wisconsin Badgers men’s basketball class of 2027, Greg Gard has his eyes locked on one final target.
A three-man class would be huge, all things considered. The transfer portal gives Gard and company plenty of wiggle room to go after basically whoever they want heading into the 2027-28 season, and they already know they’re bringing in Jalen Brown and Jack Thelen.
Unlike football, basketball recruiting is all about quality over quantity. Sure, Luke Fickell is still bringing in plenty of quality recruits, but football is a numbers game far more than basketball.
With Thelen and Brown on the way, Wisconsin currently has a stellar recruiting class. Brown is a complete guard who’s a Top 75 player in the nation, and Thelen stands 7-foot-1 and is someone the team can mold into who they want.
According to Badgers’ Evan Flood, Baboucarr Ann is the final target on Gard’s board. Ann told Flood, “I’m the last piece he’s waiting for,” in a bold statement that proves just how all-in Gard truly is on bringing another Minnesota native to Madison.
Currently, 247Sports sees Ann choosing either the Badgers or Iowa State.
