Wisconsin football extended an offer to four-star class of 2027 wide receiver Lawrence Britt on Wednesday.
While the 2027 cycle is still a year away from heating up, the wide receiver already has offers from Auburn, Florida State, Ole Miss, Tennessee and USC.
The reason for his strong offer sheet is clear — Britt is among the top wide receivers in the country for the class of 2027. Specifically, 247Sports ranks him as the No. 21 overall player in the class, the No. 3 wide receiver and the top player from the state of Tennessee. The service has yet to log a prediction for his landing spot. On3, which lists Britt as a linebacker, has Ole Miss as the current favorite at 47.2%, followed by Mississippi State (21.6%) and Florida State (18.5%).
Wisconsin is still hard at work in the class of 2026, aiming to land its third consecutive top 25 class. Britt instantly rises to the top of the program’s 2027 offers. Importantly, the program would instantly become a more favorable destination for wide receiver prospects if Jeff Grimes’ passing offense clicks in year one, something Phil Longo’s air raid failed to do during his two years with the program.

Britt notes a conversation with Wisconsin outside linebackers coach Matt Mitchell, which could signal a change to the defensive side of the ball at the college level. That is one of many variables worth watching as his recruitment continues.
