Wisconsin defensive lineman target commits to Big 12 squad

The Wisconsin Badgers missed out on a three-star defensive lineman in Anitoni Tahi.

Tahi announced his commitment on Wednesday, April 29. Of the four hats he had infront of him, he chose Kansas State.

The Wildcats add a 6-foot-2, 312-pound DL out of Chandler, Arizona. Fresh off a state championship at Basha High School, Tahi looks to take his career to the next level at Kansas State.

Wisconsin beat out numerous top teams to get to this point, and it’s worth noting that 247Sports still lists his upcoming May 28 visit in Madison.

The Badgers, who just added a defensive star in DJ Davis, failed to add their second defensive player in the last few days. At this point, they’re still ranked extremely high in the class of 2027 rankings, but this would’ve been a huge get for Luke Fickell’s squad.

For reference, K-State was ranked No. 24 prior to Tahi’s commitment. Now, the Wildcats have 11 incoming freshmen for the 2027-28 season.
