Who will be the Oshkosh and Fond du Lac Athlete of the week? Vote now

The Oshkosh and Fond du Lac athlete of the week poll from Sept. 15-Sept. 21 is live until Friday, Sept. 26 at noon.     

Cast your vote for an area athlete that participated in sports including volleyball, boys soccer, girls tennis, football, girls golf and boys and girls cross country.

Aug. 21 – Aug. 30: Maya Hawi, Lourdes Academy girls tennis (10,768 votes)  

Sept. 1 – Sept. 6: Jack O’Brien, Valley Christian cross country (4,437 votes) 

Sept. 8 – Sept. 14: MaKaelyn Clark, Oshkosh West volleyball (4,685 votes) 

Nominees 

Drew Abitz, Oshkosh West football  

In a tight loss to Neenah, Abitz had 121 passing yards, one passing touchdown, 56 rushing yards and a rushing touchdown. 

Jacob Allen, Oshkosh West boys soccer 

In a 7-1 win against Manitowoc Lincoln, Allen had seven saves. 

Alex Asende, Oshkosh North boys soccer 

Asende scored six goals across games against Pulaski, Seymour and Whitnall. 

Adeline Baird, Ripon cross country 

Baird finished in first place at the Ripon Invitational with a time of 20:01.0. She also finished in second place at the Berlin Invite with a time of 20:33.9. 

Maximus Behnke, Lourdes Academy football 

Behnke had a team-high 14.5 tackles in a 24-14 win over Cambria-Friesland. 

Gwendolyn Bruce-DeMuri, Berlin volleyball 

In a five-set win against Winnebago Lutheran, Bruce-DeMuri had 29 assists, 11 digs and two aces. 

Sawyer Bruins, Waupun football 

In a 35-0 win against Nekoosa, Bruins had 3.5 sacks and a team-high 13 tackles. 

Eric Cumber, Ripon football  

Cumber had his fourth game with over 200 rushing yards against Berlin. He finished with 204 rushing yards, two rushing touchdowns, one catch for 12 yards and one receiving touchdown. 

Lydia Flury, Oakfield volleyball  

Flury had 22 kills, nine digs and four aces in a sweep of North Fond du Lac. 

Austin Harmsen, Oakfield football  

Harmsen threw for 115 yards and three touchdowns against Williams Bay. He also ran for 82 yards and two touchdowns.    

Mason Henschel, Fond du Lac football 

Henschel had 147 rushing yards and two touchdowns against Kaukauna. 

Carson Kaiser, Ripon boys soccer 

Kaiser scored eight goals and had five assists across games against Wautoma, Berlin and Waupun. 

Bjarne Kriskovic, North Fond du Lac football 

Kriskovic ran for 101 yards and a touchdown against Laconia. 

Lilian Mansueto, Mayville volleyball 

Mansueto had a double-double in a win against Winnebago Lutheran with 24 digs, 14 kills and two aces. 

Jakob Martin, Berlin football 

Martin ran for 226 yards and four touchdowns in a 58-27 win over Ripon. 

Thomas McCarthy, Berlin cross country 

At the Berlin Invite, McCarthy finished first with a time of 15:56.1. 

Finley Morgan, Laconia volleyball 

In a sweep of Omro, Morgan had seven kills, seven blocks, three digs and one ace. Then at the Berlin Tournament where Laconia went 2-2, Morgan finished with 22 kills, 11 blocks, six digs and one ace. 

Sydnee Nelson, Oshkosh West 

Nelson had 21 kills and two aces in a five-set win against Neenah. 

Ryden Perry, Central Wisconsin Christian boys soccer 

Perry scored three goals in a win against St. Lawrence Seminary. 

Ashley Pfeiffer, Fond du Lac girls golf 

Pfeiffer had the low score of 48 against Oshkosh North on Tuesday, Sept. 16. Against Oshkosh West, Pfeiffer shot another score of 48 which was the low score. 

Garrett Pickering, Campbellsport cross country 

Pickering had first-lace finishes at the Crusader Challenge and Ripon Invitational. 

Sawyer Schuh, Winnebago Lutheran boys soccer 

Schuh scored three goals and had one assist in a 9-1 win against Campbellsport. 

Gannan Schwartz, Winnebago Lutheran football 

Schwartz did it all in a 25-24 win against St. Mary’s Springs. Offensively he had 183 rushing yards, two rushing touchdowns, 109 passing yards, one passing touchdown and made a 28-yard field goal. On defense he had six tackles. 

Jamare Scott, Oshkosh North football 

Scott had five carries for 107 yards and three touchdowns against Sheboygan South. 

Audrey Shattuck, Berlin cross country 

She had a first-place finish at the Berlin Invite with a time of 19:32.5. 

Ellie Shultis, Fond du Lac volleyball 

Shultis had 18 kills and 14 digs against Kimberly on Tuesday, Sept. 16. Then against Hortonville, Shultis had 12 kills, nine digs and one total block. 

Ellie Smith, Campbellsport volleyball  

In a win against St. Mary’s Springs, Smith had 15 kills, 10 digs and three aces. 

Abigail TenNapel, Central Wisconsin Christian volleyball 

TenNapel helped lead Central Wisconsin Christian to a 5-0 day at the Hilbert Invite with 55 kills. 

Claire Trofka, Lourdes Academy girls tennis 

Trofka is Lourdes Academy’s No. 3 singles player. Against Howards Grove she had a pivotal three set win that included a 10-point tiebreaker in the last set. She was down 9-6 and came back to win 11-9. 

Derek Wallace, Valley Christian football 

Wallace had 150 rushing yards, three rushing touchdowns, 11 receiving yards and one receiving touchdown against Elkhart Lake-Glenbeulah. On defense he had 7.5 total tackles and a fumble recovery. 

Hailey Wolf, Winnebago Lutheran volleyball  

Wolf had 42 digs and two aces in a five-set loss to Mayville.
