If you were building a softball team from scratch, Megan Hochkammer would be a heck of a player to build around.
The 2026 Lakeshore Elite Softball Player of the Year was a record-setting pitcher and hitter for the Valders Vikings.
She owns the program record for wins, home runs and RBIs, with the records likely to be untouchable for a while.
This season alone she had 27 RBIs, scored 29 runs, hit six home runs and drew 20 walks while hitting .477.
In the circle, she threw 139 2/3 innings with a 1.353 earned run average while striking out 202 batters.
Hochkammer would be worthy of earning player of the year as either a pitcher or a hitter but when you combine the two, it’s unquestionable.
