The Green Bay Packers have a player ranked in the top 10 of early fan voting for the Pro Bowl at 15 different positions as of Monday, Dec. 1. The headliner is defensive end Micah Parsons, who ranks first at his position, first among defensive players and third among all players overall.
As is the case every year with fan voting, the early results have more than a few surprises. And keep in mind, fan voting only makes up a part of the voting process; coaches and players also get a chance to vote.
Here are the Packers are in the top 10 at their respective positions during the early fan voting:
Packers notes from early fan voting
Parsons leads all players in pressures (70), quick pressures (33) and pressure rate (20%), per Next Gen Stats. Williams not only ranks among the leaders in run stops (14) among safeties, but he has been in on 11 special teams tackles covering kickoffs and punts. McKinney has two interceptions and has allowed only 15 catches into his coverage while helping the Packers become one of the best defenses at preventing explosive passing plays. Rhyan has only played three games at center, but the Packers are 3-0 in those games. Whelan is PFF’s top rated punter and deserves more votes. Tom is one of only five offensive tackles to play at least 250 pass-blocking snaps and not allow a sack. Love ranks second in PFF’s passing grade through 13 weeks, trailing only Matthew Stafford. Jacobs ranks second in rushing touchdowns, trailing only Jonathan Taylor. Nixon ranks second in pass breakups, trailing only DJ Turner. Cooper ranks fourth among all defensive players in stops in coverage, per PFF.
