The Los Angeles Dodgers delivered the first blow in the National League Championship Series against the Milwaukee Brewers.
Behind left-handed starter Blake Snell’s 10-strikeout, one-hit, eight-inning masterpiece, the Dodgers defeated the Brewers in Game 1 of the NLCS, 2-1, on Oct. 13 at American Family Field.
The Brewers didn’t go down without a fight. Milwaukee, unable to get anything going all night, finally got on the scoreboard in the ninth inning on Jackson Chourio’s sac fly, but the Brewers stranded the bases loaded to end the game.
Now, it’s on to Game 2.
Brewers manager Pat Murphy will turn to his ace, Freddy Peralta, to even the best-of-seven series in less than 24 hours.

Game 2 of the Brewers-Dodgers series is Tuesday, Oct. 14.

National League Championship Series
The Brewers and Dodgers are playing in the postseason for the third time in their teams’ history. LA has won both times. They squared off in the 2018 NLCS with the Dodgers taking the series in seven games and in the wild-card round in 2020. Milwaukee won all six regular season games in 2025, but the Dodgers have struck first in the NLCS with a 2-1 Game 1 win. Snell pitched a gem, Freddie Freeman hit a sixth-inning home run and the Dodgers got an insurance run in the top of the ninth inning on a bases-loaded walk. The Brewers found life in the ninth inning but their rally came up short when Brice Turang struck out with the bases loaded.
American League Championship Series
The Mariners stunned the Blue Jays by winning both games in Toronto, 3-1 in Game 1 on Oct. 12, and then socked two three-run home runs on their way to a 10-3 victory in Game 2 on Oct. 13. Now, the series heads to Seattle with Game 3 on Wednesday, Oct. 15.
