BASEBALL

Kimberly 7, Oshkosh West 1

OSHKOSH – Maddux Hermus pitched a complete-game two-hitter to lead the Papermakers to the Fox Valley Association win over the Wildcats.

Hermus walked one batter and struck out nine.

Pierson Hacker had two hits and three RBIs for Kimberly. Ryan Halfmann drove in two runs and Hermus had a double.

Oshkosh West got a solo home run from Avery Mosloski.

The first-place Papermakers improve to 14-1 in the FVA and 17-2 overall.

Hortonville 13, Appleton West 3

APPLETON – Garrett Smith had two hits, including a three-run home run, and drove in four runs for the Polar Bears in the Fox Valley Association win over the Terrors.

Isaac Behnke added a double and three RBIs for Hortonville, which scored 10 runs in the second inning. Jack Tennie and Xavier Enriquez each had two RBIs.

Mason Burrichter pitched four innings for the win. He allowed five hits, three runs (one earned) and struck out four.

Sawyer Figlinski, Ethan Chosa and Henry Ott each drove in a run for Appleton West.

Oshkosh North 4, Appleton North 3

APPLETON – The Spartans scored four runs in the sixth inning to rally for the win over the Lightning.

Brennan Otto had two hits, including a triple, for Appleton North. Colin Reddy had two hits, including a double. Jackson Skorr also had a double.

Cash Christianson pitched a complete game for Appleton North and took the loss. He allowed four runs on five hits while striking out nine.

Freedom 10, Clintonville 1

CLINTONVILLE – Corey Mathison was 3-for-4 with a double, a homer and three RBIs as the Irish downed the Truckers in North Eastern Conference action.

Mathison also got the win on the mound, pitching 6⅔ innings, allowing one unearned run and three walks while striking out nine.

Freedom opened the scoring with one run in the first inning, two in the second, four in the third and two in the fifth. Clintonville scored its run in the bottom of the fifth before the Irish closed out the scoring with one in the sixth.

Luxemburg-Casco 8, Waupaca 6

WAUPACA – The Spartans scored three runs in the seventh inning to overcome a 6-5 deficit and defeat the Comets in a North Eastern Conference game.

Ethan Dachelet had three hits and scored three runs for Luxemburg-Casco. Gavin Lax, Eli Derenne and Noah Chervenka both drove in two runs.

Hudson Billings pitched 2⅔ scoreless innings in relief of Chervenka to get the win for Luxemburg-Casco. He gave up two hits and struck out two.

Carson Jameson, Jay Card and John Zeamer each had two hits for Waupaca. Reed Rogers and Card each drove in two runs.

Little Chute 12, Denmark 5

DENMARK – Trailing 5-3 after five innings, the Mustangs broke the game open against the Vikings by scoring seven runs in the final two innings to pick up the win.

Braedon Heezen had two hits and drove in four runs for Denmark.

Caden Peterson pitched one inning of relief and took the loss for Denmark.

Seymour 15, Green Bay East/West 3

GREEN BAY – The Thunder broke open the game against the Red Cats with six-run rallies in both the second and third innings in the five-inning victory.

Caden Steffens and Cayden Staffeldt both had three hits for Seymour. Steffens had two triples and drove in two runs. Staffeldt had a triple and drove in three runs. Nolan Beilfuss had two hits.

Levi Meister had two hits, including a triple, and drove in two runs for Green Bay East/West.

Scott Sassman pitched three innings and got the win for Seymour. He allowed two hits, two runs, walked two and struck out six.

Winneconne 4, Fox Valley Lutheran 3

WINNECONNE – The Wolves scored a run in the third inning and three in the fourth and then held off a Foxes rally for the victory.

Winneconne was led by Lucky Pahl with three hits, including a double. Aaron Zimmer had two hits. Colson Kleinschmidt had a double.

On the mound for Winneconne, Noah Bouras pitched 5⅓ innings, allowing three runs on five hits to get the win. Kleinschmidt pitched the final 1⅔ innings to get the save.

Manitowoc Lutheran 2, St. Mary Catholic 1

MANITOWOC – The Lancers broke a 1-1 tie by scoring a run in the last half of the seventh inning to defeat the Zephyrs.

Tarver Trinkner had a double for St. Mary Catholic and scored its only run.

Isaiah Hochmuth pitched a complete game for Manitowoc Lutheran. He allowed one run on four hits and six walks while striking out three.

Ethan Plutz, who took the loss for St. Mary Catholic, allowed two runs (one earned) on five hits and three walks while striking out three.

Chilton 3, Roncalli 1

CHILTON – The Tigers scored three runs in the first inning to defeat the Jets.

Kale Wagner had two hits, including a double, for Chilton.

Jake Hillmer had two hits for Roncalli.

Nathan Mueller pitched a complete game for Chilton to get the win. He allowed one unearned run on five hits and one walk.

Hillmer took the loss for Roncalli.

Kiel 4, Brillion 3

BRILLION – The Raiders fell behind 3-0 after the first inning but scored two runs in the fifth and two in the seventh to defeat the Lions.

Aaron Stephany had three hits for Kiel. Caden Milbrath had two hits and two RBIs.

McCormick Zutz drove in two runs for Brillion.

Stephany pitched 6⅔ innings to get the win for Kiel.

Chase Braun took the loss for Brillion.

Elkhart Lake-Glenbeulah 10, Hilbert 0

HILBERT – The Resorters led 4-0 when they scored six runs in the fifth inning in their win over the Wolves.

Drew Halbach took the loss for Hilbert, which had only three hits.

Assumption 14, Weyauwega-Fremont 0

WEYAUWEGA – The Royals, who had 14 hits, led 6-0 before scoring seven runs in the fourth inning in their win over the Warhawks.

Camden Martin and JJ Oswald both had three hits for Assumption. Martin had two doubles and two RBIs.

Braxton Steinert had two hits and drove in three runs. JT Schlaefer and John Minarcin also had two hits.

Ron Bord pitched five shutout innings to get the win for Assumption.

SOFTBALL

Kimberly 12, Oshkosh West 9

OSHKOSH – The Papermakers built a big early lead but needed a late comeback to dispose of the Wildcats in Fox Valley Association action.

Kimberly led 4-0 after one inning and 6-0 after two. West scored one in the third, but the Papermakers got the run back in the fourth. The Wildcats used a six-run sixth inning to knot the score at 7-7, but Kimberly answered with five in the seventh. West, however, refused to go quietly and scored two in the bottom of the frame.

Sophie Hermus led the Papermakers with three hits, including two doubles, while Bella Ellestad added two hits, including a home run, and Rhylin Deering had two hits, including a double. Ellestad had three RBIs, while Hermus, Paige Schreck and Deering each drove in two runs.

Ellestad pitched 5⅔ innings to get the win. She allowed six hits, seven runs (all unearned), walked one and struck out two.

Colleen Fitzpatrick doubled and homered to lead the Wildcats. Also garnering two hits each were Avarie Tritt and Lia Lipinski.

Hortonville 10, Appleton West 0

APPLETON – The Polar Bears scored three runs in the fourth inning, four in the fifth, one in the sixth and two in the seventh en route to the Fox Valley Association win.

Grace Danoski earned the win, pitching seven innings and allowing three hits and one walk while striking out 13.

Powering the Hortonville offense were Danoski with three hits, including a home run; Ella Vanderwielen with two hits, including a double; and Taylor Lillie with two hits, including a double.

Ali Raddatz doubled for the Terrors.

Wrightstown 7, Xavier 6

WRIGHTSTOWN – After a slow start, the Tigers finished with a flourish, scoring two times in the bottom of the seventh inning to earn the nonconference win.

Xavier led 4-0 after one, but Wrightstown answered with one in the fourth and three in the fifth. Both teams scored one run in the sixth. After the Hawks scored one in the seventh, Wrightstown put away the game.

Annie Eiles had the hot bat for the Tigers, going 4-for-4 with an RBI, while Sophia Garcia was 2-for-4 with a double and two RBIs. Charlie Bowker added a pair of hits for Wrightstown.

Menasha 5, West Bend West 4

MENASHA – The Bluejays held off a late rally to earn the nonconference win.

Menasha led 1-0 after one before the Spartans took a 2-1 lead in the top of the fourth. The Bluejays tied the game 2-2 in the bottom of the inning before taking a 4-2 edge after four and 5-2 after six.

West Bend West closed out the scoring with two in the seventh.

Riley Weber led the Spartans with three hits, including a double.

Fox Valley Lutheran 13, Denmark 3

DENMARK – The Foxes took charge from the start en route to the big nonconference win.

FVL led 7-1 after one inning and upped that margin to 8-1 after two, 11-1 after three and 13-1 after four. Denmark scored two in the bottom of the fifth to finish the scoring.

Rebekkah Dittmer had two hits and two RBIs, while Vanny Umentum added two hits for the Vikings.

Brillion 5, Luxemburg-Casco 4

BRILLION – The Lions built a five-run lead and held off a late Spartans charge to earn the nonconference victory.

Brillion scored one run in the first inning and four in the second before Luxemburg-Casco closed out the scoring with four in the sixth.

Amaya Brooks had the hot bat for the Lions, going 2-for-3 with a double and two RBIs.

Jocelyn Tamm picked up the win in the circle, pitching seven innings and allowing six hits, four earned runs and two walks.

Southern Door 3, Winneconne 2

BRUSSELS – Samantha Melville homered and the Eagles scratched out what ended up being the winning run in the bottom of the sixth to outlast the Wolves in nonconference play.

Southern Door scored single runs in the first and fourth, but Winneconne answered with two of its own in the top of the sixth inning.

Alanah Kaye earned the win in the circle, pitching seven innings and allowing five hits, two earned runs and one walk while striking out nine.

Manawa 2, St. Mary Catholic 1

MANAWA – The Wolves overcame an early deficit to earn the nonconference win.

The Zephyrs plated a run in the top of the first, but Manawa answered with two in the bottom of the third.

SMC scored its run when Emmi Weiss walked, went to second on a sacrifice and scored on a double by Paxtyn Trinkner.

Manawa scored its two runs in the third on a two-run single by Taelyn Bonikowski.

Alexis Ferg, Callie Pethke and Katelyn Krueger each had two hits for Manawa, including doubles for Pethke and Ferg.

Gabby Guerrero had two hits for SMC.

Hilbert 5, Kiel 2

KIEL – The Wolves scored three runs in the 13th inning to earn the nonconference win over the Raiders.

Hilbert had led 2-0 with single runs in the first and third innings, but Kiel rallied for one in the fifth and one in the seventh.

Liz Neils took the loss in the circle, pitching 13 innings, allowing 11 hits, five earned runs and three walks while striking out 12.

Manawa 18, Menominee Nation 2

MANAWA – The Wolves scored in all four innings en route to the Central Wisconsin Conference win.

Alayna Seeger was 2-for-3 with two RBIs, while Olivia Zielke was 2-for-2 with two RBIs for Manawa. Callie Pethke tripled, Alexis Ferg homered and Katelyn Krueger doubled and drove in three runs.

Taylesia Pamonicutt homered for the Eagles.

Manawa led 3-1 after one inning, 6-1 after two and 10-1 after three. After Menominee Nation scored one in the fourth, the Wolves answered with eight runs of their own to close out the game.

GIRLS SOCCER

Kimberly 5, Kaukauna 0

KAUKAUNA – The Papermakers led 2-0 at halftime in the Fox Valley Association win over the Ghosts.

Kennedy Ebben and Ashlyn Krueger scored in the first half. Lily Werner, Ayla Raasch and Katie Owens scored in the second half.

Skyler Brey had two assists, while Vada Sousek and Krueger each had one assist for Kimberly.

Bee Brockert and Naomi Sotomayor were in goal for the shutout. Sotomayor made one save.

Appleton North 3, Appleton East 1

APPLETON – The Lightning got goals from Norah Behnke, Brinley Dunsirn and Emily Apostolou in the win over the Patriots.

Aubrey Scherer, Claire Zulewski and Anna Van Driest each had one assist for Appleton North.

Luxemburg-Casco 8, Little Chute 0

LUXEMBURG – Emi Kuhn scored three goals, while Aaliyah Wallace and Maggie Pravechek added two each to help lead the Spartans to the North Eastern Conference win.

Also scoring for Luxemburg-Casco was Claire Marohl.

Wallace and Diem Bonness each had two assists.

Teagan Gunderson was in net for the Spartans, but did not record a save. Lilah McGregor made 12 saves for the Mustangs.
