She had made it to the jury stage without ever being nominated. But the return of the Mastermind and his start of a “month of mayhem” saw the elimination of one the game’s star players. Did Rachel Reilly leave Big Brother?

Rachel Reilly showed throughout the season why she is a Big Brother legend. She returned on night 1 as a surprise houseguest and despite her threat level had yet to be put on the block as a nominee or as a replacement nominee.

But her time in the house ended in a controversial twist that is set to air on Tuesday, Sept. 9.

After Mickey Lee left the house in a normal vote last Thursday, Sept. 4, Reilly was eliminated based on a competition that fans from “Big Brother Reindeer Games” know all too well. Remember, the Hamster Wheel that took out Danielle Reyes in the spinoff show in December 2023? Based on what viewers have picked up on from the live feeds, the safety chain type of challenge is what takes Reilly out.

Live feeds were down the entire evening on Sept. 4 after Lee was evicted and then for nearly the entire day on Sept. 5 before coming back late that night. When live feeds returned Reilly was gone and her face on the memory wall inside the house was grayed out, signaling her time in the game was over.

In a preview to the shocking challenge, the Mastermind tells the remaining houseguests in the backyard that his monthlong mayhem starts “with a bang.”

He said that his “torturous game,” which is a White Locust theme, will guarantee that one of their chances of winning “Big Brother” ends.

From what live feeders have heard since live feeds have come back on Paramount+ and PlutoTV, Ava Pearl, a former ally of Reilly, was critical in Reilly’s game ending based on who she had lead off the safety chain challenge.

As a result, Reilly is the first member of the jury — something that had everyone’s jaws on the floor — that will help crown the winner later this month.

Rachel Reilly eliminated reactions

Rachel Reilly’s departure from “Big Brother” at the hands of a challenge — not from a vote (the way houseguests are always evicted) — has many former players, including a few past winners, and fans irate.

Rachel Reilly’s husband, Brendon, comments on Rachel’s elimination

Rachel Reilly’s husband, Brendon Villegas, also took to Rachel’s Instagram to share his thoughts.

Reilly and Villegas met on “Big Brother” during season 12 in 2010 and were engaged less than a year later. They returned to the show as part of a “Double Trouble” Twist for season 13. Reilly went on to win the season.

The two got married in September 2012.

Brendon and Rachel also appeared on “The Amazing Race” twice.
