While the Milwaukee Brewers have a split doubleheader at the New York Mets July 2 because of a rainout July 1, the second game will get some extra attention.
That’s when Brewers pitching phenom Jacob Misiorowski takes center stage again, his first start since besting Pittsburgh’s Paul Skenes, a 2024 National League all-star and the NL rookie of the year, in a June 25 game.
In his three starts, Misiorowski has a 3-0 record, a 1.13 ERA, 19 strikeouts and has only given up three hits across 16 innings.
The series is an opportunity for Milwaukee — which sits only 2½ games behind the NL Central-leading Chicago Cubs — to get back to its winning ways after a disappointing loss in its series finale against the floundering Colorado Rockies on June 29.
