Walmart shoppers in Wisconsin could start to notice a change to store shelves in the coming months.
The retailer plans to implement new digital price tags at every U.S. location in 2026. Walmart first introduced digital shelf labels in 2024 at a store in Texas and later installed them at about 2,300 more locations in 2025, USA TODAY reported.

What are Walmart’s digital shelf labels?
Walmart’s new digital labels are a new type of price tag, according to a March 2 Walmart press release.
The labels “ensure accurate, consistent pricing,” the release says, while also helping employees “save significant time by eliminating the manual task of changing prices.”
Do Walmart’s digital shelf labels contain microphones or cameras?
No. The labels do not feature cameras or microphones, according to the news release.
When will digital shelf labels be installed at Wisconsin Walmart stores?
Digital shelf labels are expected to be “chain-wide” within the next year, according to Walmart.
How many Walmart stores are in Wisconsin?
There are 97 Walmart stores in Wisconsin, its website says. There is also one neighborhood market and four discount stores in the state.
