The Wisconsin Badgers and No. 19-ranked Alabama Crimson Tide are set to kick off in one of the marquee matchups of the Week 3 college football schedule.
The two brand names may currently be performing below expectations, with Wisconsin entering the matchup unranked and Alabama down at No. 19 after a disappointing 1-1 start to the year. But a matchup of such brands, specifically between the Big Ten and SEC, is rare in the third week of the season. Those matchups typically begin the season over Labor Day weekend before vanishing from the schedule until postseason play.
Wisconsin’s challenging 2025 schedule has been well-documented since the start of the calendar year. The team currently projects as an underdog in seven of its remaining 10 games, according to ESPN’s Football Power Index. However, that standing can quickly change if the Badgers can pull a major road upset over the Crimson Tide.
Now just three days from kickoff, here is an updated look at the betting odds. Wisconsin opened as a 19 1/2-point underdog on Sunday. The line jumped to 20 1/2 on Monday and has now leaped above three touchdowns.
