Every month, All Things Jerky invites guests to its Exotic Meat Cook-In, introducing recipes with specialty meats like alligator and bison.
In 2023, co-owner Jessica Jerky and her husband relocated the exotic meat shop to 1894 N. Casaloma Drive in Grand Chute.
At the current location, customers can find products like alligator, wild boar, camel, elk, kangaroo and ostrich jerky and meat sticks, chocolate-covered scorpions, cricket chips and worm lollipops.
“We’re best known for our alligator meat,” Jerky said. “All of our alligators are sent up from Louisiana.”
At the current location, the commercial kitchen allows the jerky shop to also serve meals featuring exotic meat.
The monthly Exotic Meat Cook-In, named so because the event is indoors, features a new menu every two months.
“On months when there are special occasions, we will do the cook-ins twice a month,” Jerky said. “For Cinco De Mayo, we had exotic meat tacos and burritos; for Mardi Gras, we did alligator jambalaya.”
This month’s cook-in, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on July 11 and 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on July 12, will feature Gator Bites – deep-fried alligator nuggets with Cajun ranch; Gator Legs – grilled, Cajun-style alligator legs; and a pork brat.
“We craft our own specialty brats and those will be available,” Jerky said. “They’re just regular pork brats for those who might be afraid to try something new.”
Other menu items will include sidewinder fries and beverages.
“People think our sidewinder fries are snake meat because of the spiral, but it’s potatoes,” Jerky said.
Jerky encourages customers with larger orders or who want faster service to call ahead as everything is made to order. Customers can call 920-830-4170 to place an order. All orders are packed to-go, but can be enjoyed in person if seating is available.
No cook-in will be held in August as All Things Jerky attends the Wisconsin State Fair and Kenosha County Fair. The event will return in September with customer appreciation deals.
