I read with great disgust the story “USPS may block ballot delivery” published June 12.
The intent seems to be a form of extortion on the part of the administration to force states to provide personal information about voters to which the federal government is not entitled. Voting is managed and administered at the state level and the federal government and the United States Postal Service have no business interfering in that.
The USPS has traditionally been a “legally mandated nonpartisan establishment, bound by the Hatch Act to ensure federal programs and mail delivery remain strictly apolitical.” Recently, after a presidential directive, there has been pressure to change that norm to allow the agency to refuse to deliver certain ballots in states that have refused to turn over the voter information demanded. The administration is actively trying to politicize, weaponize and, ultimately, privatize this agency.
Coupled with mid-decade gerrymandering and attempts to pass the SAVE Act in Congress, this manipulation of the USPS and other machinations to suppress the vote in the upcoming midterm elections does not bode well for the preservation of norms clearly laid out in the Constitution. It would appear that we are witnessing “rigging” an election in real time.

Administration has made good on its promises
Every politician running for office makes the same claim: “When you elect me I will eliminate all fraud, waste and corruption.”
I’ve been on this earth for 81 years. I have never seen it happen until now. It seems we have a president who not only made that pledge but is doing something about it. He created the Task Force to Eliminate Fraud led by Vice President JD Vance. First, they expanded the probe on a $19 billion Somali scam operated in a childcare nonprofit in Minnesota. Then they found a $267 million hospice fraud scheme in Los Angeles where 21 people were arrested.
How many presidents have said Iran is a threat to America. Here are some facts; four US presidents — Bill Clinton, George W. Bush, Barack Obama and Joe Biden — formally promised or attempted to stop Iran from a developing a nuclear weapon, often through sanctions, negotiations or threats of military action. These leaders maintained the decade long policy that Iran could not be permitted to possess a nuclear weapon. But nothing ever happened until now.
