The project began May 18 and is expected to continue through June 16. Milwaukee Department of Public Works officials said residents and businesses in the work area have already been notified.

Traffic and parking restrictions may be temporarily lifted for the Memorial Day weekend before work resumes May 26.

Cross streets such as South Layton Boulevard and north-south roads from 28th to 31st streets will remain open.
