Green Bay Packers coach Matt LaFleur provided a few quick updates on injured receiver Christian Watson, injured running back Josh Jacobs and injured right tackle Zach Tom before practice on Thursday, the last on-field session before facing the Chicago Bears in primetime on Saturday night.
The injury updates from LaFleur’s press conference on Thursday:
— On receiver Christian Watson, who is dealing with a chest/shoulder injury: LaFleur said what he saw of Watson at Wednesday’s practice was “encouraging.” His availability will come down to a “medical decision” and “where he’s at on Saturday.” Watson was a limited participant at Wednesday’s practice and is expected to practice again Thursday.
— LaFleur said running back Josh Jacobs (knee) and right tackle Zach Tom (knee) will not practice on Thursday. On what that means for Saturday: “Means we’ll give them up to game time.” At this point, Jacobs is probably far more likely to play than Tom.
— No update on safety Evan Williams, who hasn’t practiced this week while dealing with a sprained MCL.
— LaFleur confirmed a few players would be ruled out on the final injury report coming later on Thursday but declined to offer up any names.
