Police seek charges in Manitowoc assault, child abuse case

MANITOWOC – A 37-year-old Manitowoc man is accused of repeatedly sexually assaulting an adult victim and physically abusing two children, according to a police report.

Investigators said two children described being struck with items including a belt, brush and hanger, causing pain and, in one case, visible marks. The report said the children told investigators the man became angry when they interrupted him while he was using his phone, laptop or playing games.

Police also said an adult victim reported multiple sexual assaults dating back several years, including incidents in 2025. According to the report, the victim said the acts were forced and involved threats and violence. Investigators allege two pregnancies resulted from assaults.

The man is expected to be referred on two counts of sexual assault causing pregnancy, one count of sexual assault by use of threat or violence, and two counts of physical abuse of a child. The allegations were outlined in a detective’s review of interviews conducted at a child advocacy center and by city police.

The Herald Times Reporter does not publish suspects’ names before they have been charged with a crime in court.
