Milwaukee burger spot lands on best burgers in America list

A Brady Street bar known for its sinfully good pub grub has made national news by nabbing a spot on USA TODAY’s “Best Burger Spots in America” list.

Since opening in 2021, Saint Bibiana, 1327 E. Brady St., has gained a steadily following for its namesake double-decker smashburger, winning over fans with its juicy patties with crisp edges, melty American cheese, savory “Saint” sauce and squishy sesame seed bun.

At $14 including a side of fries, it’s a pretty good value considering the burger’s massive size and today’s skyrocketing beef prices.

The Bibiana Burger has landed on my list of best Milwaukee burgers twice (including my updated list, which was published May 6), something USA TODAY considered when adding to its stable of 15 standout burgers across the country.

In case you missed it, I praised Saint Bibiana’s Bibiana Burger for its two lacy-edged, smashed beef patties, which pull off the difficult feat of being gorgeously charred around the edges while staying juicy inside. American cheese oozes sinfully down the sides, and a pile of grilled onions, pickle slices and a tangy special sauce dress it all up.

It’s familiar, but the patties are seasoned so well and are so juicy they practically disintegrate the bun as you’re eating (one of my top characteristics in a best-ever burger). Forgive the mess — this burger is worth the extra napkins … and a few extra seconds to snap a photo before you take a bite.

Other burgers on USA TODAY’s list include the Ghost Burger from Little Ghost in Ferndale, Michigan; a burger from food truck Jay’s Burgers in Louisville, Kentucky; and the Guy Fieri-approved burgers at Grill-A-Burger in Palm Desert, California.
