WISCONSIN RAPIDS – A developer is holding a community meeting to answer resident questions about a proposed data center in Wisconsin Rapids.
According to McMillan Memorial Library’s website, a public meeting to discuss the proposed data center development will be held from 11 a.m. to noon Aug. 1 in the All-Purpose Room at the library, 490 E. Grand Ave.
A spokesperson for PNK Group confirmed to a Daily Tribune reporter July 30 the company is holding a public meeting in partnership with former New York City Mayor Eric Adams.
Anton Voronkin, PNK Group’s chief development officer, and Adams will both attend the meeting, according to the spokesperson, who named Adams as “a supporter of the responsible development of next-generation data centers.”
The PNK Group representative said the Aug. 1 meeting will be the first in a series of small community meetings focused on listening to resident questions and answering them openly and constructively. These meetings are intentionally small and designed for meaningful conversation where everyone attending can participate.
While the group is not limiting the number of participants, the spokesperson said anything over 30 people is more difficult to hold a group conversation at 60-90 minutes.
“The concern is ensuring that people with questions can get answers and be heard,” the spokesperson said.
The All-Purpose Room at McMillan Memorial Library holds capacity for up to 80 people, according to the library’s website.
PNK Group also intends to hold more community meetings and webinars in the coming weeks for anyone who cannot attend the Aug. 1 meeting.
