Rickards High School’s football program received a major boost ahead of the 2026 season after winning BSN Sports’ $50,000 Home Turf Takeover contest, earning new Under Armour uniforms and facility branding upgrades.
The Raiders were selected from among high schools across the country, thanks in part to a Rickards graduate who entered the school into the nationwide competition.
Rickards Athletics celebrated the achievement throughout the day, sharing photos and videos of players modeling the new uniforms as the team continued preparations for the upcoming season.
For senior defensive back Tyler Walker, the prize represents more than just new equipment.
“Us winning the prize meant a lot just for the football team, but for the school,” Walker told the Tallahassee Democrat. “It just makes you realize how much the South Side has come up, and we’re forever grateful for the prize.”
The timing comes as Rickards opens fall camp with high expectations. The Raiders return several key players, including Vanderbilt commit Davion Crumitie, UCF recruit Walker and quarterback Jordan Kelley.
With renewed excitement surrounding the program, Rickards will look to carry the momentum from its off-field victory into the season opener against Ribault at 7 p.m. Aug. 13.
