Green Bay Packers general manager Brian Gutekunst filled a glaring need by selecting South Carolina cornerback Brandon Cisse with the 52nd pick in the 2026 NFL Draft Friday night, April 24.
And it appears both NFL Draft experts and fans in social media are high on the 20-year-old Cisse’s potential upside as well.
Packers fans being in complete agreement with the front office during the draft is often rare, but there appeared to be total cyberspace support for Gutekunst’s opening choice in the draft. There was virtually no criticism of the selection of Cisse.
Packers Nation is excited about Cisse’s 4.41 speed and overall athletic ability. Fans seemed both thrilled and surprised that he was still available in the middle of the second round.
Cisse won’t turn 21 until July, but appears to have the skill set to compete for significant playing time immediately.
