Green Bay Packers running back Josh Jacobs was arrested on Tuesday and booked into Brown County Jail on five different charges after an incident involving a disturbance compliant on Saturday morning, according to a press release obtained by Matt Schneidman of The Athletic.
The charges include battery, criminal damage to property, disorderly conduct, strangulation and suffocation and intimidation of a victim, per the release from the Hobart-Lawrence Police Department.
Jacobs “vehemently denied” the charges, per his representation, who are asking for “fairness and restraint” during the legal process.
The Packers declined to comment on the on-going legal matter, per Schneidman.
Jacobs, who turned 28 years old in February, has been with the Packers for the last two seasons. He is under contract in Green Bay for the next two seasons. Jacobs was originally drafted by the Raiders in the first round of the 2019 draft.
The Packers opened OTAs in Green Bay on Tuesday. Coach Matt LaFleur is expected to speak with the media after Wednesday’s open practice.
