Plan for intense heat this week. Green Bay could face record highs today with warmer temperatures lasting most of the week.
Temperatures are forecasted to hit around 91 on May 26 in Green Bay, said Jason Alumbaugh, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service Green Bay. The record high for Green Bay is 92, set in 2018.
Alumbaugh said it’s “abnormal” to get that level of heat in the area this early in the season. Green Bay does get hot days in May, but the normal high temperature at this point in May is 71.
“That’s pretty significant for late May into June,” Alumbaugh said.
Temperatures will stay above-normal most of the week in the high 70s or 80s in the area.
Along with the heat, storms are also expected to spread across the area tonight. Some storms could be severe with large hail, damaging winds, or heavy downpours in Green Bay.
Rain could reach the Green Bay area before 11 p.m.
