The Zoo Interchange ramp from southbound I-41 to eastbound I-94 reopened more than two hours after a motorcycle crash caused it temporarily close Wednesday evening, July 15, according to the Milwaukee County Sheriff’s Office.
At about 7 p.m. July 15, sheriff’s deputies responded to the Zoo Interchange for a report of a motorcycle crash on the ramp from southbound I-41 to eastbound I-94.
Deputies and Milwaukee firefighters arrived at the scene and transported two people ‒ a man and a woman ‒ to Froedtert Hospital with traumatic injuries.
As of 9:51 p.m., law officials said both victims were in critical conditional with life-threatening injuries.
Due to the severity of the incident, the agency’s reconstruction unit had been deployed to document the scene and preserve evidence.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation. Additional information will be released as it becomes available, the sheriff’s office said.
