Somehow, the Milwaukee Panthers have gone on a historic run in the NCAA baseball tournament.
After starting the year 5-22 with nine run-rule losses, they finished the regular season 22-31 and managed to win the Horizon League.
As all Wisconsin Badgers fans know, the only team in the Big Ten without a baseball program is Wisconsin.
Now, Wisconsin sports fans have a chance to watch Milwaukee do its thing in an unprecedented tournament run.
For reference, the Panthers, who have a losing record, made it further in the NCAA tournament than the No. 1 overall seed, UCLA. Keep in mind, the Bruins were the first team ever to be ranked No. 1 all season long.
In a viral post on social media, a fan asked, “Should Wisconsin bring back its baseball program?” with a mock-up of the team’s potential jersey designs.
Capitalizing on their momentum, the Panthers responded, “Why when you have us.”
Milwaukee’s response blew up, attracting over 365,000 views in less than 24 hours. For an account with less than 11,000 followers, it’s safe to say the 2026 Horizon League Champions have plenty of new bandwagon fans after their performance this year.
