Milwaukee has made it through the worst of the heat, with temperatures expected to cool down slightly as the weekend approaches, National Weather Service meteorologist Benjamin Sheppard told the Journal Sentinel.

The city’s all-time high for July 15 is 96 degrees, set in 1931. The temperature in Milwaukee wasn’t expected to reach that level Wednesday, Sheppard said.

What are Milwaukee’s heat records for July?

Milwaukee’s hottest July day ever – and all-time hottest day on record – was July 24, 1934, when the temperature reached 105 degrees, according to the Wisconsin State Climatology Office.
