Manitowoc's Rahr-West Art Museum will host a free community sock hop June 25

MANITOWOC – The Rahr-West Art Museum’s 75th anniversary celebration will continue June 25 with a free sock hop on the East Lawn.

The event will run 5-8 p.m. and include 1950s music by the Del Rays; classic cars; a free “Quick Create” art activity of painting vinyl records until 7 p.m.; and a hula hoop challenge.

Attendees are advised to “come dressed to the nines” and compete for the top prize in costume and sock contests. Refreshments will be available.

The Vilas-Rahr Mansion and museum galleries will be open with exhibits featuring the museum’s history, The Little Gallery, Mirro to Miro and the work of Manitowoc-native Gary Gresl.
