MANITOWOC – Manitowoc Police Department is asking for the public’s help identifying a man suspected of attempting to abduct a child in Manitowoc.
Police said the incident happened around 3:45 p.m. Thursday, March 5, near Union Park in the 500 block of North Seventh Street.

Officers were called after receiving a report that a man tried to grab a child and then chased the child as they escaped on a scooter.
According to investigators, the children described the suspect as a male with light-colored skin wearing a blue shirt.
The man reportedly yelled at the children to come over to him before chasing them when they fled, police said.
A doorbell camera captured video of a male wearing a light blue, long-sleeve shirt or sweatshirt and blue jeans chasing the child, but the footage was not clear enough to identify the suspect, according to police.
Police believe the suspect may have been associated with a red sedan of unknown make or model, which had already left the area when officers arrived.
Anyone with information is urged to contact Manitowoc Police Department at 920-686‑6551 or submit tips through the P3 app, referencing case No. 2026‑00002293.
