A 36-year-old man died Nov. 4 when the motorcycle he was driving struck another vehicle on West Greenfield Avenue, police say.
The motorcyclist was driving east on Greenfield and was not being pursued by police, according to a news release from the West Allis Police Department.
Around 11:24 p.m., West Allis police were alerted by New Berlin police about a motorcycle speeding east toward South 124th Street. Officers, who were heading to another call, then saw the motorcycle race through the intersection of South 116th Street and West Greenfield Avenue.
Moments later, they came upon flames in the 11100 block of West Greenfield Avenue.
A preliminary investigation found the motorcycle had been traveling eastbound at more than 100 mph before colliding with a Dodge Magnum which was also heading east on Greenfield.
The motorcyclist died in the collision, police said.
The driver of the Dodge ― the sole occupant ― was not injured.
The crash remains under investigation.
