FOND DU LAC – A Milwaukee man has been convicted of providing the fentanyl that led to the 2024 death of Amanda West.
Keyandre Fowler, 27, was found guilty of being party to the crime of first-degree reckless homicide after a six-day jury trial, Fond du Lac County District Attorney Eric Toney announced June 26. Fond du Lac County Judge Tricia Walker revoked bond and ordered a pre-sentence investigation report.
“Fentanyl continues to have a devastating effect on our communities, and we will aggressively prosecute those that pedal poison into our community, regardless of where they live,” Toney said in a news release.
According to the criminal complaint, Fond du Lac Police Department officers responded to a suspected overdose death in a Fond du Lac apartment in December 2024. A witness that had bought the drugs led investigators to Fowler as the dealer.
The Lake Winnebago Area Drug Unit assisted the Fond du Lac Police Department with the investigation. Toney and Assistant District Attorney Hannah Krueger prosecuted.
