A positive injury update for the Green Bay Packers: starting nickel cornerback Javon Bullard has a bone bruise on his right foot, but the injury is not considered serious and Bullard is fully expecting to play Week 1 against the Minnesota Vikings, per Ryan Wood of PackersNews.com.
Bullard did not practice on Monday, and he was seen wearing a walking boot on the injured foot. However, Rob Demovsky of ESPN said Bullard was not wearing the boot in the locker room after practice, suggesting the boot was a precautionary measure.
Bullard, who emerged as a top slot defender for the Packers in 2025, suffered the injury on the turf of the Don Hutson Center during Sunday’s practice.
While Bullard dealt with some swelling, he told Wood that his MRI came back clean, and his status for Week 1 is not in question.
“Hell no, I ain’t missing Week 1,” Bullard said, per Wood.
In fact, Bullard said he’d be playing if the Packers had a real game tomorrow.
Bullard has plenty of time to get his foot in fighting shape. The regular season opener at U.S. Bank Stadium is still 34 days away. While Bullard might miss time moving forward, including Thursday’s preseason opener, his foot does not appear to be a hurdle for his Week 1 availability.
That’s obviously good news for the Packers and Bullard, who enjoyed an impressive second-year leap in 2025 and is positioned to be a top defender for Jonathan Gannon’s defense in 2026.
