A week ago, the Milwaukee Brewers were coming off their third straight series win to start the season and vibes were positive on the early returns for the three-time reigning NL Central champions.
Seven days later, it’s not as rosy. They’re coming off their second straight series loss, have a five-game losing streak, including with three consecutive sloppy defeats at home, and Christian Yelich suffered a hamstring injury on April 12 that is expected to keep him out an extended period.
The team gets a day off on Monday, April 13, to try to regroup.
When the Brewers return to the field, they’ll start a three-game series with the Toronto Blue Jays, who like Milwaukee is in a rut. After opening the season 3-0, the reigning American League champions have been scuffling, losing nine of their last 12 games and have dropped their last four series.
Toronto comes to American Family Field looking for its first road win of the season.

No, the Brewers do not play on Monday, April 13. Coupled with an early season rainout, it’s the fifth day off for the Brewers in the first two-plus weeks of the season and first of three consecutive Mondays they won’t be playing.

Brewers probable pitchers
Jacob Misiorowski will take the mound for the first game against the Blue Jays. He brings in a 1-1 record in two appearances, a 3.31 ERA and 1.04 WHIP.
He lost his last game, a start at the Boston Red Sox, the first in the team’s five-game losing streak.
Brewers schedule
The Brewers welcome in the reigning AL champion Toronto Blue Jays to American Family Field for a three-game series on April 14-16. It will be the fifth interleague series in their first six series to start the season. Following the series, the Brewers begin a six-game road trip, starting at the Miami Marlins.
