Southeast Wisconsin was again battered by heavy rain and thunderstorms on Wednesday, April 15, leading to flooded roadways across Milwaukee.
The rain came after a week of severe weather across the state, including more thunderstorms, 4-inch hail and at least four confirmed tornadoes on Tuesday, April 14. In Milwaukee, upwards of 5 inches of rain was recorded between April 13 and 15 at multiple rain gauges as of Wednesday night, according to the Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewerage District.
At Milwaukee Mitchell International Airport, rain gauges recorded an additional 1.66 inches of rain between 7 p.m. Wednesday and 7 a.m. Thursday, according to the National Weather Service.
