A fog warning is in effect again for drivers crossing the Mackinac Bridge Thursday morning, April 16.
Dense fog has limited visibility in the Straits of Mackinac, which can be seen on the Mackinac Bridge Authority’s bridge cams. Fog has been an issue several times this week in the bridge area.
“Currently we are experiencing fog in the Straits area,” the MBA’s website says.
Slowing down and leaving extra space between cars can help drivers safely navigate fog, according to the National Weather Service.
Is the Mackinac Bridge closed?
No, while a fog warning is in effect Thursday morning, April 16, the Mackinac Bridge remains open to travelers.
Drivers should reduce speed, use low-beam headlights, leave enough space between cars and watch the road lines to stay in the correct lane amid fog, the National Weather Service advises.
How can you check current Mackinac Bridge conditions?
The Mackinac Bridge Authority’s website features current bridge conditions and five bridge cams that update every 1 minute showing a live look at conditions.
