How do home prices compare across Milwaukee area? What we found

Home sales are up across the Milwaukee metro.

Home sales in the metro area consisting of Milwaukee, Waukesha, Ozaukee and Washington totaled more than 1,500 in April, according to a real estate report from the Greater Milwaukee Association of Realtors. Sales rose 11% overall from April 2025, with particularly strong increases in Milwaukee and Waukesha counties.

But the area’s housing supply shortage continues to push up prices, according to the report. Across the four-county metro, homes sold for a median price of $370,000 in April. That’s up 2.8% from April 2025.

Here’s a look at the median home price across the Milwaukee metro, according to Milwaukee Metro Multiple Listing Service data:

Milwaukee: median $234,000

The median Milwaukee home sold for $234,000 in March, the most recent data available, according to real estate brokerage Redfin. That’s up 14% from March 2025.

For comparison, a Milwaukee home on North 19th Street sold for $230,000 on May 8.

The remodeled Cape Cod spans 1,500 feet with three bedrooms, two bathrooms and a detached one-car garage, according to the listing from Nicole Mosley with Reign Realty. It was built in 1940 on a 0.11-acre lot.

The home features new windows, flooring and light fixtures, according to the listing. The remodeled kitchen has granite countertops and stainless steel appliances, while the bathrooms feature Bluetooth-enabled exhaust fans.

Wauwatosa: median $439,000

In March, Wauwatosa homes sold for a median price of $439,000, according to Redfin data. Tosa’s housing market is “very competitive,” the brokerage added.

A Spanish-style Tosa home sold for $433,000 on May 22.

The 1,400-square-foot home, built in 1925, has three bedrooms, two bathrooms and a detached two-car garage, according to the listing from Brian Romans with Modern Realty Partners LLC. It sits on a 0.22-acre lot on North 104th Street.

The home features beamed ceilings, vinyl flooring and a decorative living room fireplace, the listing says. It also features newer mechanicals and ceramic tile.

Waukesha: median $355,000

Waukesha homes sold for a median price of $355,000 in March, according to Redfin data. That’s a 6.3% increase over 12 months.

For reference, a 1,550-square-foot Waukesha home sold for $352,000 on May 18.

The home was built in 1930 with two bedrooms, one bathroom and a detached one-car garage, according to the listing from Liz Tobolt with First Weber Inc. It sits on a 0.14-acre Oakland Avenue lot near Buchner Park.

The home features hardwood flooring, a custom kitchen and a partially finished basement, the listing says. The yard offers a maintained garden, deck and entertainment area.

Port Washington: median $390,000

Homes in Port Washington sold for a median price of $390,000 in March, up 1.3% from the previous 12 months, according to Redfin.

A Port Washington home on Parknoll Lane sold for $380,000 on May 13.

The brick ranch-style home spans 1,750 square feet with three bedrooms, 2.5 bathrooms and a detached 2.5-car garage, according to the listing from Sophia Barry from Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices. It was built in 1965 on a 0.19-acre lot along the Ozaukee Interurban Trail.

Updates include a new roof, kitchen appliances and countertops, water softener and central air. The yard is fully fenced and features a patio and shed, according to the listing.

Mequon: median $563,000

Mequon’s median home sale price was $563,000 in March, according to Redfin. That’s a 5.5% decrease from March 2025.

For comparison, a 2,000-square-foot Mequon home sold for $570,000 on May 15.

The ranch-style home, built in 1960, has four bedrooms, 2.5 bathrooms and an attached two-car garage, according to the listing from Melissa Bradley with Keller Williams Realty. It sits on a 1.12-acre lot on Freistadt Road.

The home features a brick fireplace and back den with built-in storage. The finished basement has a wet bar and a bedroom with a walk-in closet, according to the listing.
