Help pick Oshkosh's best donut for National Donut Day

OSHKOSH – The first Friday in June is almost upon us.

No, not the official start of summer, although that’s just as good.

We’re actually talking about National Donut Day — the other most celebrated date in early June.

What started almost 90 years ago (1938) by The Salvation Army to honor the women who served donuts to soldiers during the First World War has become the means for us to get free donuts.

Big chains like Dunkin’ Donuts and Krispy Kreme typically participate every year, but where do you plan to get your pastry this June 5?

Is it at one of those major chains or will you head to Thunderbird Bakery, New Moon Café, Caramel Crisp, Planet Perk, Tamara’s the Cake Guru or another spot?

Tell us who has the best donut in all of Oshkosh, and we’ll publish your response in a special National Donut Day article on June 5. Be sure to email us your name, preferred donut spot and your favorite donut to jmarville@usatodayco.com.
