Greenheck Foundation launches volunteer platform in Marathon County

A new online platform is connecting volunteers with nonprofits in Marathon County.

The Together Marathon County Volunteer Hub, an initiative of the B.A. & Esther Greenheck Foundation, is launching a public volunteer recruitment tool, according to a community announcement. The aim is to help nonprofits recruit and retain volunteers, increase visibility and streamline engagement.

“Nonprofits are being asked to do more with less, and the most effective way we can support them is by strengthening their capacity to engage volunteers strategically,” Pam Jackson, CEO of B.A. & Esther Greenheck Foundation, said in the announcement. “That’s why we built Together Marathon County, to ensure every nonprofit has the infrastructure, tools, and support needed to leverage volunteer talent fully.”

More than 400 volunteers on the platform

The platform has been in a soft-launch phase since April, focusing on onboarding nonprofits. Since then, nonprofit profiles have been viewed more than 400 times, volunteer opportunities more than 4,000 times and volunteers have logged over 135 hours. Nearly 100 new volunteers registered in April and May, bringing the total to more than 400 on the platform. Thirty-six nonprofits have been fully onboarded, representing a range of missions including youth development, hunger relief, environmental stewardship, senior services, mental health and community enrichment.

The public launch includes a visibility campaign with countywide social media outreach, digital ads, press and local media engagement. The platform is free for nonprofits and volunteers and is supported by two staff members.
