The Green Bay Police Department is asking witnesses to a shooting on the city’s east side in the early hours of Sept. 30 to come forward with suspect information.
Around 12:15 a.m. Sept. 30, police officers were in the 1100 block of Stuart Street responding to a reported suspicious situation when multiple residents in the area told the officers they heard nearby gunfire before the police arrived at the scene, according to a police department news release.
The residents didn’t have further information to share with police, but officers located evidence of gunfire in the 1100 block of Stuart Street and the 200 block of South Roosevelt Street, along with bullet holes in two nearby vehicles, the release said. No injuries have been reported.
While investigating, officers found a firearm inside a vehicle registered to a convicted felon. The vehicle was parked in the driveway of a home in the 200 block of South Roosevelt Street.
Officers executed a search warrant on the home and found additional firearms and drugs, the release said. As a result, police arrested a 23-year-old Green Bay man on a charge of possessing a firearm as a felon. Police also referred a charge of maintaining a drug trafficking place against a 22-year-old Green Bay woman.
It is unknown whether either individual is connected to the shots fired incident, the release said. Police are asking for witnesses to come forward with suspect information.
