GREEN BAY − For the second straight day, the Green Bay Packers had perfect attendance for practice.
All 53 players on the active roster participated in the team’s Sept. 5 practice in some capacity.
Packers coach Matt LaFleur said in his pre-practice news conference that he anticipated the entire team would be out on Ray Nitschke Field to put in final preparations before the Detroit Lions come to town Sept. 7.
On the final day of practice for the week, the media is allowed access only during the pre-practice stretch.
Here are some takeaways:
Four-for-Four for Micah Parsons
Star edge rusher Micah Parsons told reporters this week that he’s been ramping up his practice time with the hopes of playing in the game against the Lions.
While LaFleur said he’s been limited, he practiced all four days for the Packers as he’s recovering from a back injury.
Parsons said he wants to play, but it’s all up to the coaches and medical staff.
“I’m still ramping up. It’s a process of getting ready for football being out for six months,” Parsons told reporters Sept. 4. “Obviously going through the tightness, the soreness.”
Nate Hobbs practices again
Nate Hobbs participated with the team in practice for the second straight day.
The cornerback had surgery to repair a tear in his meniscus July 31. He hadn’t worked out with the team until Sept. 4. He was listed as a limited participant on the Sept. 4 injury report.
“Nate’s a dog. He’s a great competitor, and that’s why we got him,” LaFleur said. “He’s really worked hard at doing all the little things to put him in this position to potentially play on Sunday.”
Jayden Reed and the other receivers were accounted for
Jayden Reed reportedly has been battling a Jones fracture in his left foot and missed the Sept. 3 practice. He went outside to participate for the second straight day Sept. 5.
Dontayvion Wicks and Savion Williams are the other two receivers who have been on the injury report this week.
Every receiver went out on the field for practice.
Packers official injury report
According to the Packers’ Sept. 5 injury report, seven players are listed as questionable.
Zayne Anderson (knee), Nate Hobbs (knee), Micah Parsons (back), Jayden Reed (foot), Barryn Sorrell (knee), Dontayvion Wicks (calf) and Savion Williams (hamstring) are all questionable to play.
Jordan Love (thumb) and Elgton Jenkins (hip) were on the injury report this week but are good to go for the game.
On the Lions side, three players were ruled out, including tackle Jamarco Jones (ankle), linebacker Trevor Nowaske (elbow) and running back Sione Vaki (hamstring).
