A former De Pere City Council member is set to return to the board.
The City Council will vote Aug. 19 regarding Casey Nelson to fill District 4’s seat, according to the meeting’s agenda. The seat was open after John Quigley announced his resignation in July. Quigley had been on the City Council since 2021.
Mayor James Boyd and Council President Shana Defnet Ledvina interviewed applicants who were interested in serving on the council early in August.
Nelson was elected to the De Pere City Council seat in 2017 until he decided not to seek reelection in 2021. He has lived in De Pere since 2013 and was a pharmacist at the Veterans Affairs facility in Green Bay.
