Farmers Market on Broadway canceled again for weather forecast

The Farmers Market on Broadway is canceled for the second week in a row for the incoming storms July 8.

Around 10:30 a.m., On Broadway, Inc. announced the decision to cancel the market tonight because strong storms could bring gusty winds, hail and flash flooding. The National Weather Service Green Bay said the highest risk for storms is from 3 to 8 p.m.

A similar forecast caused the farmers market to get canceled a week prior on July 1, and damaging flash floods hit vendors June 24. It’s the third cancellation this summer, with a previous closing on June 10.

On Broadway said all the vendors have been contacted about the cancellation.

“We recognize that market days are an important source of income for many vendors and that these decisions can have a real impact on small businesses. We hope that next week will bring more favorable weather,” On Broadway, Inc. said in a statement.

The Brown County siren test for the area is also canceled for July 8. It normally goes off at noon.
