Three children under 11 years old drowned July 3 after the boat they were on capsized during a powerful and fast-moving storm that wreaked destruction throughout Walworth County.
The children, two girls and a boy, were among 10 people on the boat who were all thrown overboard into Geneva Lake. They were riding on a 25-foot 2024 Nautique P25 vessel, which has a maximum capacity of 19.
The deceased children, ages 6, 7, and 10, were found inside the sunken vessel in 32 feet of water, the Geneva Lake Law Enforcement Agency said in a news release. Six adults and one other child were rescued.
