The family of Eliotte Heinz, the 22-year-old found dead in the Mississippi River 13 miles south of La Crosse on July 23, released a statement July 22 thanking the community for their support throughout the tragic time.
“The outpouring of support in the search for Eliotte has been overwhelming, and we are deeply grateful for the kindness, prayers, and encouragement from the community and beyond,” the family said.
They also asked for people in the La Crosse area to review their home security footage from July 20 between 2-6 a.m. to get more information about how she went missing.
“If you see anything that may help, please contact the La Crosse Police Department,” the family said.
Heinz had been missing since July 20 in La Crosse and was found in the river near Brownsville, Minnesota, three days later at about 10:28 a.m., the La Crosse Police Department said in a news release.
After she went missing, authorities and community members began searching for her.
Those wishing to provide monetary support to Heinz’s parents, Shane and Amber, can do so through either Venmo or PayPal (daniellefaskell@gmail.com).
