The Tazewell County Coroner’s Office has identified a 62-year-old Peoria man as the person killed Thursday morning in a two-vehicle crash along Interstate 74 near Morton.
Elbert Robinson was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash, according to Tazewell County Coroner Charles Hanley. The coroner’s office was asked to respond at 5:39 a.m. Thursday morning to the two-vehicle crash, which took place at mile marker 102 near the Morton exit.
An autopsy was held Friday, with preliminary findings showing that Robinson died from multiple blunt force injuries stemming from the collision. Three others also were injured in the crash.
Illinois State Police and the coroner’s office are continuing to investigate what led to the crash.
