Ex-Badgers standout Hunter Wohler hurt during Colts' game vs Packers, out for season

Former Wisconsin Badgers and Muskego High School standout Hunter Wohler encountered a big speed bump in his first NFL season, suffering a reported Lisfranc injury in his foot that has ended his rookie season before it starts.

Drafted in the seventh round, the safety/linebacker Wohler had already made an impression with his new team, the Indianapolis Colts, getting nine tackles in the preseason opener. But he left early in the second game, against the home-state Green Bay Packers, and the Colts placed him on injured reserve.

Players assigned to IR in the preseason are ineligible to return during the rest of the season.

Interestingly enough, one of the corresponding moves the Colts made to address their injuries was signing former Badgers linebacker Jake Chaney, a teammate of Wohler’s at Wisconsin.
