A Disaster Recovery Center will open July 20 in Green Bay to help Brown County and Oneida Nation residents affected by storms and flooding between April 13 and 23.
At the center you will be able to get help applying for federal assistance; connect with or speak to representatives from Brown County, Oneida Nation, as well as state and federal agencies; receive updates on your Federal Emergency Agency application; and learn about the appeals process, according to a news release from Brown County and Oneida Nation Emergency Management Offices.
The center will be on the Northeast Wisconsin Technical College campus in Green Bay.
April was the wettest month ever in Green Bay, after 7.88 inches of precipitation fell by April 15, beating the 1929 record of 6.46 inches for the entire month, according to the National Weather Service Green Bay.
The storms led to significant flooding and closed some area schools after more than 4 inches fell April 13-15.
In early July, the Trump administration approved federal disaster assistance to help recovery efforts in places affected by severe storms and flooding April 13-23, making federal funding available to residents in Bayfield, Brown, Buffalo, Jackson, Jefferson, Juneau, Kenosha, Manitowoc, Marathon, Milwaukee, Outagamie, Racine, Rock, Sauk, Vernon, Washington, Waukesha, Waupaca, and Winnebago counties, and the Oneida Nation.
Any residents with uninsured damage, personal property loss or disaster-related emergency needs due to the April storms can apply.
