Community First Credit Union has pledged $1 million toward immediate relief and long-term rebuilding efforts to communities affected by the Appleton-Menasha tornado, including Menasha, Appleton, Neenah and Fox Crossing.
This commitment is one of the largest in the credit union’s history. The funds will support local relief initiatives to aid residents and small businesses to recover and rebuild
“The devastation from the recent storm and tornado is significant, but our commitment to our neighbors is unwavering,” Cathie Tierney, Community First’s president and CEO, said in a press release. “Rebuilding takes time, but together, block by block and brick by brick, our team is determined to help our community recover and come back stronger than ever.”
Community First also added programs to help those impacted by the storms including low-cost emergency relief loans for immediate needs such as housing, transportation or lost wages; and payment and fee relief, where members can get loan deferments up to three months.
